Hidden Options Menu

Go to the options menu and press L1+R1. This will take you to a special hidden options menu.

Toggle Amount of Ammunition

Once you have beaten the game once, restart the game. Go to the options menu and press R1+L1 to reveal the hidden option menu. You will notice a new option: the ability to multiply the amount of ammunition you pick up. Multiply the ammo amount by either two or three.

Remove Scratchy Filter

Once you have beaten the game once, restart the game. Go to the options menu and press R1+L1 to reveal the hidden option menu. You will notice a new option that will allow you to turn off the filter that permeates the game, bringing you a clearer picture of what's going on.

Unlock Another Hard Riddle Mode

Play through the game and beat all three riddle difficulty settings--Easy, Normal and Hard. If you play through the game again on Hard Riddle level, the puzzles will change, further boggling your mind.

Read All Writing

Once you get all five endings, go through the game again and you'll be able to read all the writing on signs that was previously obscured. Neat, huh? Now you have a reason to play the game a sixth time.

Tip: Beating Pyramid Head in Blue Creek

After the short cut scene concludes, pull up your gun and start popping caps. Every time a bullet successfully connects, you will hear a dull clang.

Pyramid Head will move toward you slowly, dragging a huge blade arm behind him. As he slowly moves toward you, keep popping. However, make sure you move to the stairway at the bottom of the room as he approaches. When he reaches the area in front of the door, run up and past him.

At this point, he may raise his blade, but move to the opposite end of the room and keep firing. If you get hung up on him and he drops the blade on you, you could be killed (or worse). After you plug him about 30 times, an alarm will sound in the distance. Pyramid Head will make his way down the stairs and into the watery area below, draining the stairwell. Don't follow him too closely as he leaves, or he'll kill you with his cleaver. However, once the water has completely drained, move down the staircase and exit through the slimy blue door.

Soft Reset

If you're stuck in the game and want to quickly return to the main menu, press L1+L2+R1+R2+SELECT+START to soft reset.

Get Chain Saw

Here's a handy little weapon that will help you rip through the game a second time. First, beat the game on Normal Difficulty (and Normal Puzzles). Then, when you start a new game, search the logs near the cemetery to get the Husqvarna. Happy carving!

Get White Chrism

Finish the game once. When you return to Apt. 105 in Blue Creek Apartments, there will be a vial of white chrism in the kitchen. Examine it.

Get Dog Key

The dog house can be found near Jack's Inn, but only after you've either seen three of the endings (or the Rebirth ending once). The Dog Key can be found inside the dog house.

Get Book of Lost Memories

Play through the game once. The next time through, you'll find a newspaper stand near the Texxon Gas Station. Inside, you'll find the Book.

Get Obsidian Goblet

Play through the game once. The next time through, search the shelves in the Silent Hill Historical Society. You'll find the Goblet.
